Meet Alyssa

Alyssa Pratt, MSW, LMSW

You’re NOT Alone!

Living in a broken world can sometimes leave us feeling like broken people. Grief, loss, depression, anxiety, uncertainty, and so much more can pile up and keep us from seeing our true worth. By seeking help, you are taking those first steps in recognizing that God has so much more in store for you. I have spent many years working with people to overcome life’s challenges and find new growth even through the pain. I look forward to walking this journey with you toward rediscovering the perfect creation God has made you.

Every person enters the room with unique gifts, perspectives, beliefs, experiences, and expectations. As a result, each therapeutic journey will also be unique. I will work with you to discover your strengths and challenge your doubts. We will develop a plan designed to achieve the outcomes that matter most to you. Change isn’t easy, and growth can be uncomfortable, but I assure you the investment will be worth it.

My Background

I hold a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Michigan as well as a Bachelor of Science from Oklahoma Christian University. I am a licensed social worker in the state of Oklahoma and am currently under supervision to complete the requirements for the clinical license. I have been a social worker for 10 years and previously worked in hospice.

I have extensive experience working with people from all different backgrounds and walks of life. I have worked with older adults, adults, teenagers, children, families, and groups. My counseling experience includes grief and loss, depression, anxiety, coping with terminal or chronic illnesses, and family mediation. I specialize in twin loss and childbearing losses (miscarriage, stillbirth, infertility, etc).

I enjoy public speaking and am happy to present on topics related to grief and loss, depression, anxiety, guilt, anger, and end-of-life planning.

My Approach & Philosophy

My approach to counseling is strengths-based and largely influenced by Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Attachment Theory. I also utilize Motivational Interviewing, Family Systems Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Mindfulness. I firmly believe in integrating skills and techniques from multiple therapeutic philosophies to best fit your needs and talents.

I am confident God called me to this field and blessed me with the talent and ability to walk with others through their difficult times. In doing this work, I am often reminded of the words Jesus speaks in Matthew 11:28. “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.” Only Jesus can remove all your burdens, but you are always welcome to leave your baggage in my office.

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
